A Glasgow restaurant will close next month after 10 years in the city centre.

In a statement released on social media over the weekend, the team behind Steak & Cherry on the city's Sauchiehall Street thanked their customers for a decade of support while announcing their final day of service will be Saturday, October 12.

Although no further details have been released regarding the nature of the project, they have also hinted at a new venture on the horizon as Steak & Cherry comes to an end.

The post reads: "After an incredible 10 years, Steak & Cherry is closing its doors.

"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful customers for their support.

"Serving you has been an absolute honour - thank you for being part of our journey.

"We hope you'll join us in our next venture."

Steak & Cherry has over the years specialised in New-York inspired menu of steaks, burgers and cocktails with a 1am closing time known to entice hungry late night visitors from surrounding bars and clubs.

In February, 2011 the venue was destroyed by a fire which took more than 12 hours to fully control.

Just hours after the blaze, more than 3000 people had signed up to an internet campaign to get the Steak & Cherry up and running again.

The restaurant re-opened its doors on November 5, 2014.

Another added: "Gutted but good luck to all in your new adventure."
