A new flexible office space has been launched in a former Police Scotland building in Glasgow city centre.
The fast-growing SRE Group has pledged a “very different offering” at The Courtyard at 255 St Vincent Street, one of Glasgow’s busiest thoroughfares. IT firm Bridgeall and NeBuFlo, a medical technology specialist, have already been secured as tenants.
SRE Group, which has a burgeoning portfolio in Glasgow and Aberdeen, said The Courtyard “represents the evolution of workspace in Glasgow”, where there is demand for “interesting, contemporary walk-in space”. Offices are set around a bright courtyard adorned with greenery and bleacher seating, with facilities including a shared kitchen and meeting rooms.

John Grewar, who manages letting activity for the SRE Group, said: “This is a very different offering for Glasgow, whose name, The Courtyard, reflects the bright central space where tenants will be able to relax with a coffee and meet their clients and guests.
“The interior design has been created around the light that floods in through the glass atrium, which has allowed us to complete the space with greenery, creating a welcome, positive gathering space, around which sit the new offices. Our workspaces are available on very flexible terms and are in walk-in condition.
“The Courtyard is our response to what we continue to hear from businesses in the city, which is that rather than bland, dated space, they want an interesting and healthy working environment with collaboration space that encourages staff retention and increased productivity.”

SRE recently added to its portfolio with the acquisition of 50 Huntly Street, previously known as Princewall House, in Aberdeen. The property, which has an “imposing granite façade”, spans 14,581 square feet across three floors. Formerly home to Xodus Group, it offers modern office suites from 1,500 square feet and up, as well as lift access, showers, and cycle storage.
The acquisition came shortly after SRE announced that it had let office space at 25 Blythswood Square in Glasgow to Isle of Harris Distillers, which said it will use the “iconic address” as the mainland base for its UK commercial and “storytelling” team. SRE has now fully let the “landmark” building.
The company’s portfolio in Glasgow comprises around 300,000 sq ft of office space, with an additional 150,000 sq ft of industrial and leisure facilities.
It owns 75,000 sq ft of office space in Aberdeen, and plans to expand its interests in both cities over the next 12 to 18 months.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
