Police intervened after clashes between football fans ahead of Celtic vs Slovan Bratislava in Glasgow.

Brendan Rodgers' side played their first Champions League match of the season against the Slovak side on Wednesday night, with the visiting fans to be escorted to Celtic Park from George Square at 6pm.

A large police presence was spotted outside of McChuills on High Street in the city shortly before that time.

An eyewitness described officers surrounding the fans with truncheons drawn, and said a man in a blue shirt appeared to have been struck with a glass or bottle.
