Four teenagers have been charged in connection with wilful-fire raising at a hospital in Musselburgh.

The fires took place within two derelict buildings of the unused Edenhall Hospital on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Officers were alerted to the fire at around 6.40pm on that date and enquiries have been ongoing since.

They have now confirmed they have charged three male aged 15, 15 and 16 as well as one female, aged 14, in connection with the incident and a report will now be sent to the relevant authority over the matter.

Detective Constable Calum Cross said: “I’d like to assure locals this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.
