A “quirky” hotel in the Highlands has been put for sale, with the current owner declaring she is “hugely proud” of what has been achieved by the team.

Graham + Sibbald, which is conducting the sale, said the hotel had proven itself as a “key player” in the Highlands.

It said that the “lovingly restored” Victorian hotel, on the “picturesque” south side of Loch Ness, “offers a true sense of Highland tranquility”.

And Graham + Sibbald flagged a “lifestyle opportunity” to build on the hotel’s “stellar reputation”.

Lesley Renton, owner of the Whitebridge Hotel, said: “We are hugely proud of what we have achieved at the Whitebridge Hotel so it’s not been an easy decision to bring it to the market. Graham + Sibbald said: “Known for its charm and quirky interiors, the impressive boutique hotel has been sympathetically modernised, retaining its traditional features whilst offering all the modern commodities. The property offers 12 welcoming ensuite guest rooms, seamlessly blending traditional Scottish features with modern design. The property also benefits from a separate, six-bedroom owners’ accommodation which can also be used as staff accommodation.

“The hotel offers a cosy residents' lounge, a quirky café, a traditional bar where you can enjoy a nip of Scottish whisky by the open fire and a dining space. There is also a characterful breakfasting room.”

Graham + Sibbald noted the hotel “sits on a prominent plot with a large, south-facing beer garden to the side, as well as a large terrace and ample off-street parking for guests”.

It added: “The property offers a great lifestyle business for the right buyer to build upon its stellar reputation and frequent return guests. It is evident the current owners have poured time and commitment into the property and, as a new venture awaits, they have left behind an outstanding business.”

Emily Hewitson, surveyor in the hotel and leisure department at Graham + Sibbald, said: “We are delighted to bring to the market this quirky, characterful property on the banks of Loch Ness. The hotel has proven itself as a key player in the Highlands, offering boutique-style accommodation which seamlessly blends traditional Scottish design features.

"The current owners have lovingly restored the property and built a phenomenal business with a growing turnover year on year. As they move on to pastures new, they are leaving behind a very profitable business for the next owner.”
