Two airlines have revealed passenger traffic records for August.

Ryanair said its passenger numbers for August totalled 20.5 million, up by 8% on the figure of 18.9 million for the same month last year.

The airline’s load factor last month was 96% - matching that in August 2023.

Wizz Air carried a record 6.2 million passengers during August at an improved load factor of 95.4%, compared with 94.1% in the same month last year. The August passenger total was up by 1% on the figure of 6.14 million for the same month of last year.
