A famous Scottish hotel has secured planning permission to develop 30 woodland lodges as it aims to achieve its “full luxury potential”.

Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, owned by Dubai-based Dutco, said the lodges are expected to be completed in spring next year.

The new lodges will add a further initial 48 bedrooms to the resort’s current “key count” of 70, Mar Hall declared, “delivering a welcome enhancement to large corporate and international group bookings, as well as those seeking accommodation for larger events and wedding parties”.

It added: “This ambitious project will transform the resort’s 240-acre estate, further establishing Mar Hall as one of Scotland’s premier resort destinations.”

Joe Gallacher, general manager at Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, said: “We’re thrilled our proposal for 30 luxurious woodland lodges has been approved by Renfrewshire Council. This marks a major milestone as we continue our journey of transformation across the resort, to achieve its full luxury potential.

“Creating an exceptional experience for our guests that seamlessly blends our stunning surroundings with the highest standards of luxury is at the core of our plans and we’re delighted that we can now get started on development to bring them to life.” The resort noted the “exciting” plans for the one, two and four bedroom lodges “come amidst the ongoing multi-million-pound renovation works being led by Align Partners, on behalf of Dutco, to reposition Mar Hall as one of the most luxurious resorts in the country”.

It said: “Most recently, the newly refurbished leisure suite was unveiled including a state-of-the-art gym, alongside a 20-metre swimming pool with saunas, steam rooms, relaxation space, and an outdoor thermal suite.”

Mar Hall declared that the lodges “will offer a rare blend of rustic elegance and modern comfort, strategically positioned to capture panoramic views of the enchanting River Clyde and the majestic Kilpatrick Hills”.

It added: “Each lodge will provide an exclusive experience, enveloped in the natural beauty of Mar Hall’s historic woodland, creating an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

“Every lodge will be a private sanctuary, featuring a personal entrance, a spacious outdoor terrace complete with a hot tub, and interiors that exude warmth and sophistication. Guests can unwind in a super king bed, enjoy the luxury of an ensuite dressing area, and relax in a cosy lounge warmed by a traditional log burner. Designed to welcome couples, families, and groups, these lodges will offer an intimate and tranquil retreat.”
