Police have told the public not to approach a convicted prisoner who has absconded from HMP Castle Huntly as they appealed for any information about him.
Martin Jackson was reported missing to police from the open prison at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 28. The 33-year-old is believed to have connections in both Ayr and Cumbria.
Police have released a description of him as white, medium build and around 5ft 10ins tall and say he is bald with red facial hair.
He was last known to be wearing a grey top and bottoms with a dark jack and may also have a grey back pack, a white plastic bag and black baseball cap.

Any sightings or information can be passed to officers via 101, quoting reference 3722 of 28 August.
Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
