LONGINES
With the introduction of the stunning Spirit Zulu Time and Spirit Flyback, Longines continues to set the standard in luxury watchmaking with the new models now available at the brand's Glasgow boutique
For nearly two centuries, Longines has been synonymous with Swiss watchmaking excellence. Founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, the brand has consistently pushed the boundaries of horological innovation, marrying tradition with cutting-edge technology.
The winged hourglass emblem, a symbol of Longines’ commitment to precision, elegance, and performance, has adorned the wrists of discerning collectors and adventurers alike.
Today, Longines continues to captivate the world with its latest offerings—the Longines Spirit Zulu Time and the Longines Spirit Flyback.
These two new models are a testament to the brand's dedication to creating timepieces that are not only visually stunning but also mechanically superior.
The Longines Spirit Zulu Time: A Tribute to Aviation’s Golden Age
THE Longines Spirit Zulu Time is a masterpiece of modern watchmaking, reflecting the brand’s century-old expertise in crafting watches. First introduced in 2022, this model draws inspiration from Longines' rich aviation heritage, particularly its pioneering dual time-zone wristwatch from 1925.
This latest iteration of the Spirit Zulu Time is now available in Grade 5 titanium, lightweight on the wrist yet highly robust.
At the heart of this 39mm timepiece lies the Longines GMT calibre L844.4, a self-winding mechanical movement that exemplifies precision and is equipped with a silicon balance-spring – a revolutionary component that enhances the watch’s resistance to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations, thereby ensuring unparalleled accuracy.
With a power reserve of up to 72 hours, the Spirit Zulu Time is a reliable companion for both frequent travellers and watch connoisseurs.
The watch features a bi-directional ceramic bezel with a 24-hour scale, divided into two shades—matt black and polished black—to distinguish between day and night hours.
The anthracite dial is adorned with gold-plated hands and Super-LumiNova®-coated Arabic numerals which allow them to glow in the dark for night time usage.
A date aperture at six o'clock and a GMT hand with a red-tipped luminescent arrow complete the dial, making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Water-resistant up to 100 metres, the Spirit Zulu Time is as practical as it is stylish.
The Longines Spirit Flyback: A Fusion of Heritage and Modernity
BUILDING on its legacy of technical innovation, Longines presents the Spirit Flyback—a Chronograph that symbolises the pioneering spirit of the brand.
This timepiece is more than just a watch; it’s a tribute to Longines’ historic role in developing the Flyback function, a complication that revolutionised aviation in the early 20th century.
The Spirit Flyback collection, first unveiled in 2023, has now been expanded to include two stunning new versions, each offering a unique blend of steel and 18-carat gold.
Available with either a green or brown dial, the Spirit Flyback is powered by the Longines calibre L791.4, a chronometer-certified movement that promises exceptional accuracy.
Like the Spirit Zulu Time, the Spirit Flyback’s movement is equipped with a silicon balance-spring, making it ten times more resistant to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 reference standard.
The Spirit Flyback’s aesthetic is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. The green-dial model features a case crafted from steel and 18-carat yellow gold, while the brown-dial version is paired with 18-carat rose gold.
The bidirectional rotating bezels, capped with matching gold and ceramic inserts, add a touch of luxury to these pilot’s watches.
The gold hands and numerals, coated with Super-LumiNova® Old Radium, ensure that the Spirit Flyback remains legible in all lighting conditions.
Water-resistant to 100 metres, the Spirit Flyback is as robust as it is refined and with a power reserve of up to 68 hours, this flyback chronograph is designed for those who demand both precision and durability.
These models embody the brand’s unwavering commitment to innovation, precision, and elegance. Longines offers timepieces that are not only a testament to its storied past but also a symbol of its bright future.
