A man who raped and sexually assaulted a teenager has been jailed for seven years.

Jakub Sojka met his 15-year-old victim in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire on March 1 2021 before taking her to his home address.

There he forced her to consume a 'powdered substance', threatened violence against her family and hit her head against a door.

After detaining her against her will, he sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated before raping her.

Sojka was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on July 31, and on Tuesday was sentenced to seven years at the High Court in Edinburgh.
