A man has been charged after the alleged attempted abduction and sexual assault of a woman in Arbroath.
The 35-year-old man appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
Officers are keen to trace an orange coloured car and a man who was seen in the area around the same time and have appealed for more witnesses.
They believe they could have vital information for them and are urging anyone who might have been in the area on the night.

Detective Sergeant David Fearn, Arbroath Police Office, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who saw what happened, in particular the occupants of the orange coloured car and a man seen walking nearby at the time, to come forward. They may have vital information."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 1713 of 19 August, 2024.
