A multi-vehicle crash on the M8 sparked has traffic misery for hundreds of commuters with long tailbacks on one of the main routes into Scotland’s largest city.
The accident happened just before 7am on the M8 heading westbound into Glasgow at junction 15, the Townhead interchange.
Two lanes were closed by the crash, and police were sent to the scene.

Traffic was slowed to a crawl with drivers static or barely moving for up to 40 minutes.

The lanes were cleared around 8:10am, but the knock-on affect on the morning rush house meant delays were still estimated to be around 38 minutes.
The have been no reports of injuries in the crash, which is being investigated.
