New drone footage has captured the "fantastic perspective on the scale" of over 460 new homes.

The development on the site of a former department store depot is spread over three blocks and has an ecological woodland area and pocket park.

The build-to-rent housing at Bonnington Road in Edinburgh is "progressing well", said Graham, with the company on schedule to deliver 464 homes in the weeks ahead on behalf of PLATFORM_ and Heimstaden, including 114 affordable homes.

"Landscaping is starting to take shape and it’s easier to visualise the ecological woodland area and pocket park, where residents will be able to relax surrounded by nature," Graham said.

"The rooftop terraces overlooking the Water of Leith will provide thoughtfully designed spaces for residents to socialise."

Homes at former John Lewis site approved

Work starts on over 140 new homes at landmark site

Approval for huge development

The development stretches from the former Bonnington Resource Centre building at the southern edge and covers the one-time John Lewis depot site to the north.

Graham said sustainability has been a key focus of the project which includes electric vehicle charging points, mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) units and roof-mounted solar panels for on-site power generation.

"At six storeys high, the development fits in well with the surrounding architecture and is spread across three residential blocks totalling 325,000 square feet", the firm said.
