A law firm has said its new office on a Scottish island strengthens its physical presence.
The expansion and new permanent presence will also provide employment opportunities, it said.
Anderson Strathern said it has opened in Kirkwall, in the Orkney town’s historic Old Library.
The expansion follows the recent appointment of director Ellen Eunson to the Northern Isles team, based at the new office.
As part of the firm’s plan to grow its presence and market share in the islands and north of Scotland, it is currently recruiting for a new role of legal PA based in Kirkwall, "with potential for future job creation on the islands".

The office is headed up by partner Sheila Tulloch, who has many years of legal experience from the commercial and public sectors.
Ms Tulloch, who is from Orkney, said: “Being from the islands, I fully understand the needs and challenges facing the community today. Having a team on the ground will strengthen our offering to our clients as well as appeal to those keen to do business face-to-face.”
Alice Tait, senior solicitor, will also be based in Kirkwall. The Old Library was recently renovated by local accountant and entrepreneur Calvin Cooper, who has developed it into a co-working space on the ground floor, with private offices upstairs. The office building also features an open-plan kitchen and café, two meeting rooms and two adjoining flats available for short-term let.
Anderson Strathern has an office in Lerwick, Shetland, and the addition of premises in Kirkwall means the firm is "well-placed to offer services right across the Northern Isles. The new office will "act as a gateway" to Anderson Strathern’s larger team of specialists based in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
