Police have launched an investigation after three cars were set on fire in Clydebank on Sunday night.

A silver Volkswagen Sharan and a black Kia Sportage were set on fire on Glasgow Road at around 9pm on Sunday, August 18. Around an hour and a half later at 10.25pm, a white Renault van also went on fire on John Knox Street.

No injuries were reported but Police Scotland are treating the fires as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish whether they are linked.

They are appealing for information and urged anyone who might have been driving in the areas at any point on Sunday night to come forward.

Detective Constable Jemma Green said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone driving in the areas at the time who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3529 of 18 August for Glasgow Road, and 3888 of 18 August for John Knox Road.
