A number of road closures are in place in Glasgow city centre after a woman was struck by a car. 

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene on Wellington Lane at around 2:40pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services remain in attendance at the scene, with police enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Motorists have been advised to take an alternative route.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.40pm on Tuesday, 13 August, 2024, a woman was struck by a car on Wellington Lane, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"Road closures are in place on Wellington Street between Cadogan Street and Waterloo Street, and Wellington Lane is closed between West Campbell Street and Wellington Street."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We are currently in attendance alongside emergency service partners at an incident on Wellington Lane, Glasgow."
