A person was verbally and physically assaulted at an Edinburgh train station, with the assailant spitting on them.

At around 11.35pm on Monday, June 15, a person on the platform at South Gyles station grabbed and verbally abused a member of rail staff.

They caused the train to be delayed by blocking the doors with their arms.

When the train was able to leave, the person spat at the same member of staff through the doors.
