With only days to go before Christmas, shoppers across Scotland will be looking to get all their presents in before the big day.

Edinburgh is one of the country's favourite retail destinations with people travelling far and wide to frequent the city's many shopping centres.

However, with the festivities comes altered opening times, making it hard to know went to nip in.

See the Christmas opening times for Edinburgh's most popular shopping centres

Here are the opening times for some of Edinburgh's most popular shopping centres this Christmas season.

Gyle Shopping Centre 

M&S, Boots and Morrisons as well as several other stores at Gyle Shopping Centre will have differing opening times. 

The mall and food court will be open between the hours of 9am and 8pm from December 18 to December 23. 

It will then open from 10am to 5pm on Christmas Eve before closing on Christmas Day. It will then reopen on Boxing Day from 10am to 6pm. 

From December 27 to December 29, the shopping centre will be open between the hours of 9am and 8pm before moving to a 9am to 6pm and 10am to 5pm pattern on December 30 and New Year’s Eve. 

The site will then be closed on New Year’s Day before reopening on January 2 between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

St James Quarter 

From December 14 to December 16, St James Quarter will be open between the hours of 9am and 9pm before moving to a 10am to 7pm pattern on Sunday (December 17). 

It will then return to a 9am to 9pm opening time between December 18 and December 23 before closing at 5pm on Christmas Eve. 

On Christmas Day, the site will close before reopening on Boxing Day between 9am and 6pm. 

On December 30, the mall will open between 9am and 8pm but close early at 5pm on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, it will open between 12pm and 5pm and from 9:30am to 8pm on January 2. 

Waverley Market

While the official 2023 opening times for Waverley Market have not yet been released, the shopping centre was open between the hours of 9am and 8pm during the 2022 festive period.

On Christmas Eve, the centre closed at 6pm before shutting on Christmas Day, Boxing and New Year's Day.
