A Scottish craft brewer has opened its first airport bar with a new transport partner.
BrewDog, the Ellon-based brewer, has opened a new bar at London Gatwick’s North Terminal under a partnership with SSP Group, which is a major operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide.
BrewDog Gatwick is the first UK bar to be opened with new partner SSP Group. The two companies have also just launched a BrewDog bar at Amsterdam Centraal Station.
The partnership will see SSP open and operate a number of BrewDog bars at airports and railway stations across the UK "over the next few years".
The move into the travel sector will expand BrewDog’s reach, with London Gatwick handling over 32.8 million passengers in 2022, and brings the brand’s range of award-winning craft beers to international travellers and those on the move.

London Gatwick is the latest location in a series of openings that have helped BrewDog expand global footprint, which now spans 100 bars and hotels.
The company, which previously opened at Edinburgh Airport under a separate arrangement, has plans to open a further 200 venues in key markets across the globe over the next seven years. The new airport venture with SSP follows openings in the US, Hong Kong, India and Australia in recent months, and building on the launch of landmark sites in London Waterloo and Las Vegas.
BrewDog Gatwick also offers travellers a range of other features, including Zoom rooms for quiet calls, a photobooth and a game-zone with a selection of PlayStation and Xbox games.
Jonathan Pollard, chief commercial officer, London Gatwick said: "BrewDog is an incredibly popular brand and, consistent with our objective of offering more choice that our passengers will love, will no doubt prove to be a real hit from opening."
SPAR store in Scottish village celebrates 65 years in business
A SPAR convenience store in a Scottish village is celebrating a milestone 65 years in business.
Susan Hutchison’s family have operated the store in Scone in Perth and Kinross since 1958. Susan’s father Ernie first started the business, with Susan working for him until he retired in 2005. She has been running it ever since, with her son Ryan joining in 2013.
Home of Rangers Football Club founder put up for sale
The former home of one of Rangers Football Club's founding members has been put on the market for sale.
The sale of the property where Moses McNeil lived in the "desirable hamlet" of Clynder, near Helensburgh, is being marketed on Rightmove by Nested, Nationwide. The agent said that "locals recall, ‘the Rangers man’, was always very dapper in his suit and bowler hat, he would travel to Glasgow once a month to collect his pension".
