INTERNATIONAL Beverage, the owner of Scotch whisky brands Old Pulteney, anCnoc, Balblair, and Speyburn, has boosted its senior leadership team with the recruitment of two spirits industry veterans.
Vernoica Amago has joined the Thai-owned distiller as global sales director while Alan Mitchell has arrived as operations director.
Ms Amago has more than two decades experience in the global spirits business, including senior roles with Beam Suntory International, latterly as commercial director Nordic and Eastern Europe, and Whyte & Mackay, where she served as director for Greater Europe and then for developing markets, including Australia, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Mr Walker began his career in the industry at Hiram Walker before spells with Allied Distillers, Pernod Ricard Pacific in Australia, and Beam Suntory, where he spent more than a decade, which included senior roles in the US. He returns to the spirits industry following operations roles with Devro and Competitive Capabilities International.
The appointments come shortly after International Beverage sealed two major acquisitions, with New Zealand’s Cardrona Distillery and the Larsen Cognac business joining the stable in recent weeks.
The company also makes Caorunn Scottish gin.
Malcolm Leask, managing director of International Beverage, formerly known as Inver House Distillers, said: “Both Veronica and Alan will further strengthen our management team as we continue to grow our portfolio of brands and businesses.

“As our two recent acquisitions – Larsen Cognac and Cardrona Distillery – show, we’re continuing to invest and grow in over 85 global markets. It’s equally important to continue to invest in our team; Alan and Veronica both have a truly global skill-set and are exceptionally talented individuals.
“There’s no doubt we will continue to face challenges but, thanks to the experience leaders like Alan and Veronica bring to the table, I know we’ll be able to continue to move forward with confidence. I look forward to working with, and learning from, them both.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
