A Mount Florida cafe which has been 'bringing a slice of Portugal to Glasgow' for over 13 years will soon close its doors for the final time.
Announcing the news last night, the team behind Arturo's Deli on Carmunock Road took the time to thank their loyal customers over the years and promised that Arturo may 'pop up again somewhere in the future' after hanging up his apron this week.
A statement read: "For those of you who don’t know already this will be our last week as Arturo will be hanging up his apron and moving on to new beginnings.
"Over 13 years ago we opened the door with a dream of bringing something unique to Mount Florida.
"Our plan was to stay a few years but the support we’ve received in this community and beyond has been fantastic and made it difficult to leave.
"We are so grateful to each and every one of you and some of you have become dear friends. It’s been a difficult decision but we are ready to take a step back and look forward to a new chapter in our lives.
"For those who know Arturo well it will be no surprise if he pops up again in the future somewhere but our immediate plan is to enjoy and spend more time with our family and friends.
"A massive thank you from us to everyone who shared our incredible journey and helped us create a little slice of Portugal in Glasgow.
"It’s been our pleasure and we will miss you all.
"Muito Obrigado."

A beloved fixture of the Southside neighbourhood for over a decade, many have credited Arturo's with serving the best Pastel De Nata in the city alongside a menu of traditional Portuguese dishes and imported retail products.
Earlier this year, as Easyjet launched its new Porto route, the team baked a selection of Portuguese cakes including Piña Colada Cocos for both crew and passengers.

"You were always so passionate about your food and cooking.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
