A police officer and three others have been injured in a crash involving an unmarked police car and a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.

The crash occurred at the Canniesburn Toll roundabout in Bearsden near Glasgow shortly after 8am on Saturday.

All of the injured were taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Three men aged 32, 29 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the incident, police said.

All approaches to Canniesburn Toll roundabout have been closed to traffic while police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.35am on Saturday, 1 July, 2023, we were called to a report of the theft of a car in Gilmour Street, Eaglesham.

"The car was later involved in a crash with an unmarked police vehicle in the Canniesburn Toll area of Bearsden, Glasgow.

"Three men, aged 32, 29 and 20, and a police officer were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

"The three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

"The roads surrounding the Canniesburn Toll Roundabout remain closed for enquiries to be carried out."

The following roads are closed:

- Drymen Road at Norwood Park

- MacFarlane Road at Moore Drive

- Maryhill Road at the approach and exit from the rounadabout

- The exit from Switchback Road to Drymen Road

- The exit on to Switchback Road from the roundabout.
