A driver has been arrested after a road traffic collision which took place on the busy M90 on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers from Fife’s road policing unit attended the crash on the busy motorway at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, October 12.

The force released images of the badly damaged red BMW on the side of the road with a lorry stopped behind it.

On Twitter, the policing unit said that ‘miraculously’ there had been no serious injuries.

They added that the BMW smelt ‘strongly of cannabis’ and the driver was suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol as he appeared impaired, however he was arrested and refused a blood sample.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
