Rare and "ultra-collectable" whiskies are being auctioned to raise funds for Glasgow's Beatson Cancer Charity.

Global market leader Whisky Auctioneer is hosting the charitable lots, which have been donated from across the industry.

Individuals, distilleries and retailers from across the whisky industry have come together to provide an array of rarities, exclusive bottlings and whisky experiences, including VIP tours of distilleries that are not normally accessible to the public.

Whisky Auctioneer has waived the sellers fee as well as donating the 10% buyer’s commission from the donated lots to the charity.

The collection includes the widely sought-after Folio bottlings from The Macallan as well as a special bottling of "The Famous Beatson" and a one of a kind 4.5ltr of The Famous Grouse labelled especially for the charity.

The auction will also feature a range of whisky-themed trips including the exclusive “Legacy Experience” at The Macallan distillery, which is usually valued at £6,000, a tour of the closed Tamdhu distillery in Speyside and a two-night stay on the Isle of Harris with a tour of the island’s distillery – home to the maturing Hearach single malt whisky.

All proceeds will go to the Glasgow-based Beatson Cancer Charity which supports people and families affected by cancer, from providing wellbeing and patient care services to funding research and specialist clinical posts.

Martin Cawley, Beatson Cancer Charity CEO, said: ‘Beatson Cancer Charity could not continue to support the thousands of patients and families facing cancer every year – the money raised from this auction will allow us to invest in a better future for cancer patients and their families.

"We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported this exciting initiative, your generosity, especially this year, is very much appreciated indeed."

Joe Wilson, Head of Auction Content, said: ‘It’s a privilege to bring these lots to auction in order to support the fantastic work of Beatson Cancer Charity again.

"We have been blown away by the generosity of the industry.

"We encourage all planning to bid to do so in the same charitable spirit and help us to raise as much as possible for an issue very close to many of our hearts."

The auction is running until October 4.
