It might seem hard to believe but schools in Scotland have already been back for over a month, which means the October break is just around the corner.
While the summer and Christmas holiday dates tend to be fairly similar across Scotland, the October break dates vary hugely based on council area.
The length of holiday also differs depending on how many weeks a school has off over the summer.

What is an in-service day?
An in-service day is when teachers and staff are in school but pupils are not.
