Part of a Scots motorway has been closed for several hours after a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to the M74 near Abington south of junction 14 at around 4.14pm on Wednesday to reports of a two-car crash.
The stretch of road between junction 14 and 15 was closed in both directions shortly after police arrived on the scene.

Now, police have confirmed to The Herald that the road remains closed, and emergency services are at the scene.
Traffic Scotland has advised that the road will continue to be closed 'for several hours', and is urging motorists to use an alternative route if possible.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called around 4.10pm to a report of a two car crash on the M74 near Abington.
"Emergency services are at the scene and the motorway is closed in both directions.”
