Thousands of social media users across the UK are experiencing severe network issues on Facebook Messenger and Instagram.
Issues were first identified on Monday evening at around 9.30pm, according to website Down Detector.
At 9.44pm, more than 15,000 people had reported problems on Facebook messenger, with thousands experiencing problems with Instagram.
Many users have been faced with a blank screen in the place of their messages on Facebook, and are experiencing trouble with sending and receiving.
On Instagram, users appear to be having trouble with their news feed, with more than 5,000 reporting problems.
From the outset, it appears to be a worldwide issue.
Whatsapp appears to also be having problems.
