A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree and upturned at a roundabout in Glasgow's West End. 

Fire crews, police and ambulance were called to the Thornwood roundabout near Broomhill Drive at Dumbarton Road in Partick just after 11.30 am today.

A man trapped inside the vehicle was rescued and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

His injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

The slip road on the Expressway to Broomhill roundabout remains closed. 

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 11.32 am on Wednesday, November 27 to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car near Thornwood Drive, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene where crews removed one casualty from the car which was on its roof.

“The casualty was then passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“SFRS crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
