The finalists for the inaugural Herald Pioneer Awards have been announced following a flood of submissions from the length and breadth of Scotland.
Following a floodan inundation of submissions for the inaugural Herald Pioneer Awards from the length and breadth of Scotland, today we are delighted to announce our finalists.
The Herald Pioneer awards, supported by CGI, City of Glasgow College and Newton Property Management, are set to recognise and reward companies across all business sectors which have engaged in sustainability and innovation in action to address the global climate crisis, making a more sustainable Scotland a reality.
We encouraged entries from both businesses and individuals across 11 categories that recognise innovation, entrepreneurship, cultural change and sustainability.
All our sponsors and judges would like to send out their congratulations to all those shortlisted.
Judges were met with a challenge due to the high calibre of entries.
City of Glasgow College is sponsoring the SME Innovation category.

Innovation in STEM is being sponsored by CGI. Lindsay McGranaghan – Vice President, Scotland, said: “CGI is looking forward to presenting the award for Innovation in STEM at the inaugural Herald Pioneer Awards.
“CGI recognises the growing need for expertise in STEM subjects in the Scottish economy and beyond. The high number of quality entries is a reflection of the great work being done in this space. Congratulations to all the Herald Pioneer Award finalists.”
Newton Property Management are sponsoring the Young Pioneers Award. Derek MacDonald, Joint Managing Director, Newton Property Management, said: “I was expecting a strong showing of applications for the awards, but to be honest the calibre of the applications this year is outstanding.”
He went on to add: “We should be very proud and confident in our nation going forward if the finalists for The Herald Pioneer awards 2019 are anything to go by.”
The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner on Wednesday, November 13, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Glasgow.
