Electric Fields has been cancelled after organisers pulled the plug following a relocation to Glasgow

The three-day event, which was moved this year from its usual location of Dumfries and Galloway to SWG3 in Finnieston, has been called off.

A formal announcement was made on the festival's Twitter page on Tuesday, with organisers stating that they "have been faced with challenges we simply cannot overcome".

Those looking to book tickets have been greeted with a message stating that "the show has been cancelled" with a phone number to call to request a refund.

Many festival goers had requested a refund after the event was moved with some reporting issues getting their money back.

On April 16, organisers revealed, due to “rising costs of producing outdoor camping festivals”, they would be moving to the urban venue in Glasgow for July 2019, following a change of date from September in previous years.

A statement has yet to be released on the cancellation on the event's social media pages.

SWG3 have confirmed they will some refunds to Electric Fields festival ticket-holders saying they will give full refunds to those who bought tickets directly from them. 

Question marks remain for those who purchased from TicketLine, who initially issues the cancellation email and have removed the event from their site.
