WHEN broadcaster and writer Muriel Gray lost her phone, she did what many do in the digital age and turned to social media for help.
Yet her followers on Twitter were baffled and amused in equal measure by her description of the handset - and its one-of-a-kind case.
Asking for help locating her smartphone, Ms Gray revealed it was decorated with a picture of a marmot standing on a mountain, wearing a hat and a backpack which contained a French baguette.
The 59-year-old former TV presenter said she had left it on her table at the SSE Scottish Music Awards at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on Saturday night.
She Tweeted: "Oh smells. If anyone finds a phone in a case with a picture of a marmot on a mountain in a hat and wearing a rucksack with a baguette in it ( I know) at table 29 #SSEScottishMusicAwards it’s mine. I’d love it back. I’m a shambles. Sorry."

The appeal drew helpful replies from her followers, but there was also some surprise among her online admirers over her choice of design.
One suggested it should be entered in the next Turner Prize competition, while another said thay would have to keep such a unique item if they found it.

However, the tale had a happy ending, with Ms Gray later Tweeting she had been reunited with the unusual item, which was bought in Parc Vanoise in the Alps.
She also delighted her followers with a picture of the marmot design, complete with hat, bag and French loaf.
Exciting news just in. THE PHONE IS FOUND! Hooray for Marmots. Even naughty ones that get lost. ❤️👍 pic.twitter.com/r25gu7nMRT

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
