Two drivers were taken to hospital after an accident on the A9 in Stirlingshire.

A section of the road was closed after the two-car collision north of the B8033 at about 12.25pm on Saturday.

Police said the drivers were taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert.

A spokesman said: "The drivers involved have been taken to Forth Valley Hospital where they are being treated."

The collision caused tailbacks for miles before the road was reopened at 4.45pm.
