ALEX McLeish insists he has not been contacted about the Rangers managerial vacancy after bookmakers suspended betting on his appointment.

The former Light Blues boss has been linked with the post since Pedro Caixinha was sacked a month ago and a number of bookies stopped taking bets on him taking over on Monday morning.

However, the 58-year-old has rubbished the suggestion he could be on the verge of an Ibrox return, telling the BBC that he has 'had no contact from anyone at Rangers'.

He then said to the Scottish Sun: “I would like it to be known that there has been no contact from anyone at Rangers and it’s important that the speculation is put to rest.”
