Royal Mail is opening six temporary centres to deal with the huge number of parcel deliveries in the run-up to Christmas.

Around 3,300 seasonal workers will be employed at the sites in Atherstone near Tamworth, Bathgate in West Lothian, Bristol, Greenford in West London, Normanton in West Yorkshire and Warrington.

Last year Royal Mail handled around 130 million Christmas parcels.

The group is taking on 20,000 seasonal workers as it prepares for its busiest time of year.
