BRITAIN'S Got Talent judge Amanda Holden castigated herself after asking if astronaut Tim Peake had been to the moon.

Peake, who would have been eight months and five days old when the last manned landing took place, looked on in silence as he was asked the question.

Holden came up with the corker while presenting ITV's This Morning. She later called herself a 't*t' and blushed after she asked: “Did you take a piece of the moon and bring it back home with you?”

The Herald:

Peake would have still been in his cot, let alone walking on the moon at the time of Apollo 17 with the Apollo 17 landing on December 11 1972. He was born on April 7 of that year.
