A new flag for Scotland is among the latest computer generated emojis given the go ahead by technology giant Apple.

It gives members of the Tartan Army a good communication tool ahead of Sunday's must-win Scotland game against Slovenia in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying group - that if Scotland win, will give them a chance of reaching the play-offs.

Also available to computer users is a new flag for England, Wales, gender-neutral faces and an orange heart.

They have been approved by the Unicode Consortium, an independent standards body for the image-based language, and can be used on iPhone and iPads with the appropriate updates.

New animals including a hedgehog, a giraffe, a cricket and a sauropod. A dumpling, broccoli and an apple pie added to the menu.

Emoji was characterised as the fastest growing language in the UK by 2015 and it is said to be evolving faster than many ancient types of communication.
