A POLICE officer is to stand trial charged with raping two women – including allegedly attacking one while in his uniform.

Blair Pettigrew, 34, is alleged to have attacked one woman in East Ayrshire between 2013 and 2015 while in uniform. It is claimed he threatened to expose details of her private life.

Mr Pettigrew allegedly raped the same woman in 2015, also while he was in uniform, and faces other claims against her, including sexual assault.

He is also accused of raping a second woman between 2006 and 2007 in Glasgow and further alleged to have indecently assaulted a third woman between 2005 and 2008.

He is alleged to have taken part in indecent communications and used the police database to access information on women.

Mr Pettigrew, of Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, denied the charges at the High Court in Glasgow and trial was set for January.
