A restaurant is backing a drive to raise funds for epilepsy research by serving customers purple food.
Diners at Cafe Tartine in Edinburgh can tuck into to a menu with purple-themed treats on Mother's Day.
Dishes being served include a starter of crab with a red cabbage gazpacho and wasabi creme fraiche.
Fillets of lemon sole with purple Peruvian potatoes, braised red cabbage and beetroot beurre blanc is being offered for the main course.
Completing the menu is a blueberry cheesecake served with shortbread and Chantilly cream.
The Leith Shore restaurant is one of several city eateries supporting international epilepsy awareness day, also known as Purple Day.
Funds raised will be donated to the University of Edinburgh's Muir Maxwell Epilepsy Centre, a medical research facility dedicated to improving the lives of children with epilepsy.
Researchers at the centre hope to improve diagnosis and detection of the condition to allow earlier treatment.
Joanne Ramsay, owner of Cafe Tartine, said: "We are delighted to support Purple Day and important epilepsy research that is happening in Edinburgh."
Dr Richard Chin, director of the Muir Maxwell Epilepsy Centre, said: "All proceeds raised will help us to improve the lives of people with epilepsy."
