SINGER-songwriter Paolo Nutini has appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court to deny drink-driving in the town.

He pleaded not guilty to driving his Mini Cooper S with 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath on February 21. 

The figure is more than double the legal limit.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton agreed to his defence lawyer Massimo Franchi’s request that he be ordained to appear at the next hearing, rather than be bailed, citing his charitable work.
