SCOTTISH golf star Bernard Gallacher and his wife have expressed their delight at the news their daughter Laura is expecting her first child with comedian Russell Brand.

Miss Gallacher, who is also the sister of the Sky Sports News presenter Kirsty Gallacher, is five months pregnant with Mr Brand's first child.

The 27-year-old has had a long on-off relationship with the Get Him to the Greek star, but the couple have recently got back together and moved into a cottage together in Oxfordshire earlier this year.

Golfing legend Bernard Gallacher captained Britain's Ryder Cup team numerous times during his sporting career and has reportedly welcomed news of the couple's announcement along with his 63-year-old wife Lesley.
Speaking from their home in Ascot, Berkshire, Mrs Gallacher ia reported to have said: "Of course it's positive and we are very happy, but I'd rather not say anything about it now."
