Game Of Thrones will soon be back on our screens but we will have to make the most of it while it lasts.
We could be spending less time in Westeros than we originally thought.

The show’s bosses David Benioff and DB Weiss have said the final two seasons of the smash-hit show will be much shorter than the 10 episode runs we are used to.
Benioff told Variety: “I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season. We’re heading into the final lap. That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that’s what we’re looking at.”

That would mean the battle for the Iron Throne could conclude with seven episodes for the seventh season and six for the eighth (and maybe last) season.
Contain your sobs though, it seems it’s all for our own good. The reason they might make the seasons shorter is so they can devote more time to making the last episodes even more jaw-dropping.
Weiss said: “It’s crossing out of a television schedule into more of a mid-range movie schedule.”

A statement from HBO said: “Any conversations about the end of Game Of Thrones and the number of episodes of future seasons is purely speculative. As is customary, HBO will sit with Dan and David to discuss the details once a decision has been made to go forward with season 7.”
The sixth season of GoT starts on Sky Atlantic on April 25.
