TWO MEN are in a serious condition in hospital after a car landed in a garden following a morning road crash.
A Vauxhall Corsa was driving near Glasgow Road, Kirkintilloch, around 4.45am on February 2 when the accident happened.
It had got into difficulty going round a bend and came off the road before landing in the garden of a nearby house.
The 26-year-old male driver was taken to the Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, along with a 21-year-old male passenger who also had serious injuries.
The driver was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital for treatment.
Both men are still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
An 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was treated by emergency crews at the scene, and nobody else was injured.
Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident to get in touch.
Sergeant Stuart Bell of the Trunk Road Policing Group at Glasgow said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision to get in touch.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact police at the Road Policing Complex at Govan on 101.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
