A Sky News correspondent got more than he bargained for after sending a tweet about First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's clothing choices.
Ireland correspondent David Blevins tweeted pictures of Ms Sturgeon, DUP leader Arlene Foster and U.TV deputy politics editor Tracey Magee wearing similar suits, with the caption: "They're all at it. First ministers and journalists are sharing a wardrobe."
They're all in on it. First Ministers and journalist are sharing a wardrobe! @DUPleader @NicolaSturgeon @Tracey_utv pic.twitter.com/7hogXZsmPx

However, Ms Sturgeon was quick to respond, tweeting a picture of Mr Blevins and minister Aodhan O Riordain with the caption: "Oh no, male journalist and male politician wear same suit!"

Her tweet has been favourited 82 times.
Mr O Riordain was surprised by the use of his picture in the tweet, however, Ms Sturgeon explained that the image was the first photo she found of someone wearing the same suit to Mr Blevins.
Well that was unexpected.... https://t.co/2ZF9rqKSJX

@NicolaSturgeon @skydavidblevins Shucks! I'll take that as an endorsement (of the suit of course). Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Mr Blevins was clearly surprised by the attention his tweet received and has vowed that the tweet will be his last foray into fashion reporting.
Well that's the last fashion report I do. It appears to have sparked an international incident. 😂#JacketGate pic.twitter.com/ixPUv98qQL

Social media users have commended Ms Sturgeon for her response to Mr Belvins's original tweet.
@skydavidblevins 😂😂 Fair play Nicola for responding

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
