Businessman Duncan Bannatyne has said he has nothing to fear about entering a celebrity filled jungle in reality TV show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

The Clydebank-born former star of Dragon's Den pointed out that he part in a charity yomp up Mount Kilimanjaro when he was 60.

Bannatyne, 66, the founder of a chain of Bannatyne's gyms, is one of the older contestants on the programme set in Australia which begins on Monday. It is fronted by Ant and Dec.

He said: "I was one of the oldest people in our group who did. A lot of the younger people who started pulled out. There were 25 of us at the bottom but only 19 of us got to the top."

Also among the 10-strong line-up is ex-boxer Chris Eubank, Diana Princess of Wales biographer Lady Colin Campbell, fashion guru Susannah Constantine, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, TV personality Yvette Fielding, X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman and Union J's George Shelley.

Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter and footballer Kieron Dyer are also competing for the top prize of jungle king or queen.

Hadley said losing a bit of weight would be a plus for him: "I will be very happy to lose weight. It's a constant battle and so losing a bit of weight would be perfect in fact."

Eubank said his wife thought it would be a good idea and it would be his first holiday since the age of 16.

The former WBO middleweight and super middleweight champion said: "Another reason is since I started boxing at the age of 16, I had to have integrity about what I was doing in the ring. You can't really take a break and you are always on edge. You can't let go even when you are on holiday."
