ALEXANDER Pacteau will have his appeal heard against his sentence for murdering Karen Buckley next month.

The 21-year-old was jailed for life and ordered to spend at least 23 years behind bars.

Pacteau clubbed the 24-year-old Irish nurse with a spanner, strangled her and dumped her body in a barrel of caustic soda.

His appeal against sentence will be heard on Friday December 4 before three judges at the Criminal Appeal Court in Edinburgh.

The Evening Times previously told how paperwork regarding an appeal was lodged with courts by Pacteau's lawyers.

Pacteau was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on September 8.

Karen had only been in Glasgow for a few weeks before she was killed by Pacteau in April.
