BEANIE hats with the words "F##K KING" produced by a Mike Ashley owned brand are being sold at knock down prices on the websites of his Sports Direct and USC fashion firms.

The hats produced by Fabric, a Sports Direct brand are being offered for just £3, providing customers with a £7 saving on the original price on both sites.

Mr Ashley has been locked in a fight with Rangers chairman Dave King over control of the Ibrox club, and is also embroiled in a legal battle over the alleged breaching of a gagging order over divulging details of a retail and merchandise contract.

The Herald:

The sales have caused a stir on social media, but there is no evidence that the hats have any link to the ongoing feud between the two.

The product is described as a "Fabric Roll Cuff Embossed Beanie".

The product information states: "This trendy beanie hat by Fabric features tonal seam stitching with reinforced trim. The hat features a classic turn up design with an embossed slogan to front. "

It is understood a T-shirt sporting the same logo was also on sale last winter.

The Fabric brand was established in 1984 in New York on the corner of Union & Lorimer 11223 and according to Sports Direct "quickly became a key player in the men's fashion market".

The Herald:

The Sports Direct website says: "To this day, Fabric's New York roots remain a key influence to the brand's creative vision through both its designs and unique styling. Due to the success of the men's range, the current collection has expanded across men's and women's fashion and includes t-shirts, jackets, chinos, trousers, leggings, footwear and accessories."

The Mike Ashley' controlled IBML described Fabric as a "young, cool street fashion brand for guys and girls who want to stand out from the crowd".

The PR blurb continues: "Fabric offers its customers exclusivity, originality and style not available from other high street brands."

It has advertised licensing opportunities across the whole product range.

IBML said: "IBML's strategy for Fabric is to increase the distribution of products in the UK and on a global scale."

Sports Direct were approached for comment.
