Commuters have been warned to take care on the roads as thick fog brings poor visibility across much of central Scotland.

Traffic Scotland issued warnings for the Strathclyde region and Fife in particular the M90, A92, M74 and M77.

Before 8am there were queues on the M74 between Junction 8 at Larkhall and Junction 4 near Uddingston.

Traffic Scotland said: "Drivers are advised to slow down and exercise caution due to fog affecting driving conditions."

At around 7.40am the M77 near Newton Mearns was slow moving with Traffic Scotland saying the route is affected by heavy fog.
