A DRIVER who died after crashing into a parked car in North Lanarkshire has been named by police.

Kyle McCusker, 28, was driving his black Ford Mondeo through Holytown, outside Motherwell, at 12.35am when he lost control.

Police say Mr McClusker, of Woodside Street in New Stevenston, hit a traffic light pole and a bus stop before his car over turned an collided with a parked Vauxhall Corsa in the village's Main Street.

The car was parked outside The White House pub.

Police say people who were inside the pub rushed to help Mr McCusker but he died at the scene.

Officers now want to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed the crash.

Constable Craig Martin, from Motherwell Road Policing Department said: "We have spoken to a number of people from the pub who came out to help, but would also appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash, who has not already come forward, to contact officers at the Road Policing Department at Motherwell via 101."

Police say a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
