A TEENAGE boy has been arrested in connection with the death of Bailey Gwynne who was stabbed at school.

Bailey, 16, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an incident at Cults Academy in Aberdeen at 1.30pm on Wednesday.

He died a short time later at hospital.

Police said a 16-year-old male had been charged in relation to the death.

A spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 16-year-old male has been charged in relation to the death of 16-year-old Bailey Gwynne on Wednesday October 28.

"The male is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday October 30."
