CATTLE straying onto tracks has called disruption to rail services in the central belt with delays of over an hour.

Scotrail has confirmed services between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth, Glasgow to Edinburgh and Inverness were effected on Tuesday morning.

Also experiencing delays of over an hour were three services between Glenrothes and Tweedbank to Edinburgh.

Scotrail said  the "minor disruption" was expected until 10am.

It said: "Due to cattle on the railway at Dalgety Bay train services through this station may be subject to disruption...
"We apologise for the delay to your journey today. To make a claim under our Delay Repay Guarantee, visit ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay."
